On-Site Position (Manchester, New Hampshire)

This role is based on-site at our Manchester, NH campus and requires physical presence to support campus operations, engagement, training, and community response efforts.


About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance — a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the university’s Title IX, sexual misconduct, civil rights, and gender equity compliance programs.

In this role, you will serve as SNHU’s Title IX Coordinator, lead policy development, oversee investigations, coordinate institutional compliance with federal and state regulations, and partner with leaders across campus to support a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for students and employees.

You will manage sensitive and confidential matters, conduct investigations, provide guidance on nondiscrimination practices, and lead efforts that assess and strengthen institutional compliance.

This position reports to the Vice President of Compliance.


What You’ll Do

Leadership & Compliance Oversight

  • Serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, overseeing all Title IX and VAWA compliance
  • Maintain and update key university policies, including Sexual Misconduct and Anti-Harassment policies
  • Ensure alignment with federal and state regulations, including Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, and ADA/504
  • Provide guidance on matters involving gender equity, discrimination, harassment, and equal access

Case Management & Investigations

  • Assess reports of sexual misconduct and student equity concerns
  • Conduct or oversee investigations, manage documentation, and ensure fair and consistent processes
  • Coordinate accommodations for individuals involved in the investigation process
  • Work with campus partners to respond to incidents, support students, and determine policy applicability
  • Maintain confidential records, track allegations, identify trends, and prepare Clery-related reports

Training, Prevention & Education

  • Develop and deliver required training for Title IX investigators, adjudicators, students, and employees
  • Lead educational efforts, including creating brochures, posters, and web resources
  • Conduct climate assessments, audits, and process evaluations to strengthen compliance

Cross-Campus Collaboration

  • Partner with Human Resources, Student Affairs, Public Safety, General Counsel, Wellness, and other units
  • Support prevention and culture-building initiatives across civil rights, equity, and Title IX areas
  • Provide guidance on cases involving employee sexual harassment or discrimination
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups focused on compliance and institutional improvement

Strategic Leadership & Program Development

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen institutional practices related to Title IX, civil rights, and nondiscrimination
  • Support NCAA compliance efforts related to gender equity and student-athlete welfare
  • Provide guidance on processes for pregnant and parenting students
  • Stay current on higher education best practices, legal updates, and compliance trends

Ancillary Responsibilities – ADA Support

  • Serve as acting ADA/504 Coordinator in their absence, maintaining continuity in case management
  • Assist with addressing disability discrimination and accessibility concerns
  • Ensure alignment between ADA/504 processes and Title IX/equity policies
  • Support cross-training and shared reporting practices across civil rights and accessibility areas

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in employment law, civil rights, human resources, victim advocacy, criminal justice, student conduct, or related areas
  • Master’s degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws, including Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, ADA/504
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and neutrality
  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience working in fast-paced, complex environments
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture understanding of institutional needs

Compensation

  • Annual pay range: $94,130 – $150,634
  • Expected hiring range: $104,012 – $140,723
    Final pay is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
